Backyard gardening to ensure household food security in the Tain District

We are implementing the backyard gardening project in the Tain and Banda districts. The projects is being implemented in 15 communities. We supply women with wire mesh and net to fence a garden for the production of vegetables and cereals. The beneficiaries of the project are growing pepper, okro, tomatoes, maize, and cocoyam. These crops are used by the households for consumption and also sold. The project is being sponsored by Prestige Consult for two years. It is our intention to increase the number of beneficiaries from 215 to 500 by 2020. It is improving the nutritional status of children under-five years,
